Decks
Custom Wood & Composite Decks
Our innovative consultants can help you design the perfect
deck for your backyard, whether you're looking for a
traditional wood construction or constructed from low-
maintenance composite materials. The possibilities really
are endless! It's hard to beat the natural beauty and
timeless elegance of custom wood construction. Each wood
deck is custom-designed using treated lumber or composite
lumber to blend in with the wide array of home styles common to homes in
Northwest Arkansas. No two wood decks are alike!
Pressure Treated Decks
The most cost effective or least expensive deck you can install
is pressure treated pine wood construction. There are other
types of decking material out there like other types of wood or
composite materials, but if price is a factor, you can’t get a
better product for the money than building with pressure
treated pine. Typically southern yellow pine is used because of
its fast growing abilities and is later treated with chemicals at
very high pressure to penetrate the wood. These chemicals
make the pressure treated wood more durable and resistant to rot and
termites.
Cedar Decks
For many people, the only construction material choice is cedar. Cedar wood
is prized for its rich colors and natural beauty and because it’s not pumped
full of preservatives. Cedar wood also contains both tannins and oils which
makes them naturally resistant to rot, decay and insects which makes it a
great choice for deck construction. Cedar comes in four grades of decking
the most expensive being the clearest cedar. Make sure you know what
you’re getting when you receive cedar construction estimates.
Please be aware that if your cedar deck is not stained that it will eventually
weather to a soft silvery gray.
Composite Decks
Signature Fence offers composite decking as a low maintenance, safe and
durable option for your outdoor deck or patio. Composite wood is the most
expensive decking material to begin with but composite wood will maintain
its color for years without the work of painting, staining or sealing. And with
its high resistance to mildew and insects you will never have to replace a
board due to warping or rotting.
